Testimony: Seeing in the Spirit Realm

A member of my family grew up seeing and hearing in the spirit realm.  We thought she was imagining things because we grew up knowing very little about Jesus, angels and demons. I wasn’t aware of the real warfare that is happening in the spirit realm all around us. Many people are gifted in seeing in the spiritual realm and some others have their eyes opened to it after they receive Jesus as their savior. The enemy’s number one strategy is to bring fear to those that can see his strongholds. He starts long before we develop our identity in Jesus.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

When I received Jesus as my one and only Savior the Lord showed me the authority I have over the enemy. God wants us to be aware so we can fight and know how to fight. I remember the first time I saw a demon in my house. My son Josiah was only two years old at the time. He woke up at night crying and screaming for a entire week from nightmares. At the time I didn’t know much about spiritual warfare. You can imagine how worried I was. My son couldn’t talk yet and it was difficult for him not to be able to tell me what was causing his fear. I would just hold him and pray over him.

One night he woke up again crying, but now he was pointing at the corner of his room. I stood in the middle of his room with a righteous anger and even though I didn’t see anything, by faith I commanded every demon and unclean spirit in his room to leave in the name of Jesus. In a blink of an eye I saw a demon flee from his room. Woo my eyes were wide open and I was shocked of what I had seen.  This was the first time I knew the authority we have in Jesus.

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19

This experience left no room for doubt in the almighty power of Jesus. His name is so so powerful. Since that night I pray over my home and my family everyday. I would specifically pray for God to send an angel to Josiah’s room and to place one in front of my house. I prayed that prayer everyday. God hears our desperate prayers and he is faithful. Not long after, I passed by Josiah’s room and I stopped to see an angel that was standing in the middle of his room. That was all the confirmation that I needed but a few days later, I was leaving my house and I had this strong feeling to look back at my house. When I did, I saw a tall angel standing right outside my house. Tears rolled down my cheeks of how God really does hears us. The revelation of his love was breath taking. He is always listening. He is always watching. He is always faithful even when we are not. His grace will always be greater than our sin.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11

So yes, demons are real and so are angels. God is ready to release his angels to protect you. His spirit is desperate to move on your behalf. When I feel fear creeping in, I command fear to go in the name of Jesus. I also teach my children, every time they see anything bad to use their authority saying “Go away in the name of Jesus”. We also make sure we don’t watch any horror movies that will trigger fear and anxiety. The enemy wants to attack us and stop us from fulfilling our calling, gifting and our grasp our identity in God’s kingdom. He wants us to choose not to live in truth because of fear of rejection. I want to encourage you to not loose hope. Don’t think that God is not hearing your prayer. Keep praying. Trust in him. He fights for you .

“For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” Deut. 20:4

If your child is having repetitive nightmares here are some things that helped us set the atmosphere at my home before bedtime:

  • Playing worship music before bed time.
  • Reading a bible story.
  • Praying before bedtime
  • We invite the holy spirit to fill our home with His presence.

Father: I plead for the blood of Jesus over (child’s name) Thank you, Heavenly Father, for being faithful and good, and for hearing my prayers for help. I ask that you release an angel to guard (child’s name) tonight from all forces of darkness. I ask that your angels stand guard in her/his room and my home. Jesus I pray you fill her/his sleep with peaceful and restful dreams, and nothing dark will disturb her/him. And I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Ephesians 6:13-20

  2. Thank you for your blog post. It was just what I needed. My son doesn’t have many nightmares but he does “think” a lot before bed and those thoughts can cause him fear and anxiety. I will take your advice on how to pray for my boys.

  4. The Lord always brings me back to those scriptures you wrote. Thank you for this blog, and I thank God because this is something I needed confirmation on. I know God has a calling for me but I couldn’t fully understand it but little by little I’m starting to see that everything I’m going through is part of his divine plan. God bless you and your family, you’ve inspired me to continue to grow in my faith and authority given to me in the name of Jesus. ♥️
