Pause, Refresh and Reset

During my 21 days of fasting social media, I really wanted to focus on spending time with my family and getting refreshed. I had to put some things on hold, including the children’s book I am writing. Being an influencer & having a business, I find my self using social media as one of my main tools for reaching out and staying in touch with people. We use social media to get caught up on the daily news, for work, and many times we compare ourselves with others and take note of goals we too want to accomplish but lose focus on what is really important. I felt it was a time to set aside distractions. A time to PAUSE, REFRESH and RESET. It is a blessing to be able to help and share with others about my faith and journey with God. He is the reason I have everything that I have. I have to constantly remember we are all called to be in the world but not of the world. Coming to God for help is what gives me a much needed renewal of my mind and a refreshment of the Spirit of God in my life. Coming to Him for peace, where I can breath and relax in His presence.

Psalm 23:3  He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake

Some of the things I did during fasting social media:

  1. I started off by deep cleaning and decluttering my entire home. I got rid of things that I have not used or touch in over a year. It feels so refreshing to have less things to worry about. Cleaning and worship is a powerful combination. Anything you do, include God in it.
  2. Spending time with Jesus. There is nothing better than grabbing a cup of coffee and reading the Word of God. It is truly ALIVE, and it will do an immeasurable work to restore you inside.
  3. Writing!! lots and lots of writing by the chimney on rainy days. I love jotting down my thoughts about the season I am in and being able to go back and read.
  4. Going on fun adventures with my Family. Going to the farm is our favorite. I love picking up fresh veggies and fruits plus the kids love the delicious apple doughnuts.

Isaiah 40:31 But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
